Short answer
Of 52,056 used iPhones we tested from October 2025 to September 2026, the typical battery read 88% on arrival, 39.7% were at 90% or more and 2.6% showed a non-Apple part message.
Every phone that comes into our certified facility goes through the same test station before we decide what it can be sold as. These are the phones as they arrived, before any repair.
Battery health follows charge cycles, not age
A battery wears with every full charge. Phones charged fewer than 300 times almost all read 90% or more. Between 500 and 900 cycles the typical phone reads 86 to 87%. Past 1,200 cycles, 43.5% are under 80%, the point where iOS warns about battery health. Some high-cycle phones read high because the battery was already replaced.
Median battery health by charge cycles. Phones per band: 2,583 · 6,115 · 10,844 · 13,345 · 9,392 · 5,770 · 1,973.

| 85–89% | 42% |
| 80–84% | 13.8% |

Our Premium grade only takes phones at 90% or more, about 4 in 10 of what we see.
By model
Models we tested at least 1,500 of. Newer Pro models arrive with the healthiest batteries. The iPhone SE (3rd generation) has a small battery that wears quickly: 29.2% arrive under 80%.

"Typical" is the median. Part messages were checked on 11,816 phones, so per-model part rates rest on smaller numbers.
Non-Apple parts are rarer than people think
iOS shows a message when a screen, battery or camera isn't a genuine Apple part. Of 11,816 iPhones we checked, 2.6% showed one: screens 1.5%, cameras 0.9%, batteries 0.2%.
None of those phones are sold as Premium or Excellent. Only our Value line can carry a part message, and the listing names it.
Every phone is tested before it's graded
Each phone goes through the same test station for screen, touch, Face ID or Touch ID, cameras, microphones, speakers, sensors, buttons and battery. A phone with a fault is repaired and tested again. If it can't be fixed, it's sold only in our Value line, with the problem named on the listing.
What this means if you're buying
- Ask for the actual battery percentage, not a word like "good". Ours is on every listing.
- Ask how many charge cycles. On iPhone 15 and later, Settings > General > About shows the cycle count.
- Check Settings > General > About > Parts and Service History for part messages.
